Off the PagesIn 2018, the Lopez Museum and Library will reopen in its interim home at The Rockwell Business Center - Sheridan in Mandaluyong.
This undertaking presents the institution with new opportunities that could help improve the programs and services it offers to the public.
One challenge is to rethink how engagement with the visual arts collection and the library holdings may be undertaken. How can visitors and researchers best mine the collections for the purpose of scholarship, education and instructive amusement of individuals, the Filipino public and beyond?
“Off the Pages” is inspired by the wide variety of materials in the Filipiniana collection of the library.
Aside from the extensive inventory of books, the collection boasts of periodicals and specialized materials such as archival manuscripts, maps, photographs, stamps, theses and dissertations, government documents and microfilms, maps, photographs and editorial cartoons.
The new banner program has the flexibility to take on various formats and platforms that can highlight the holdings’ unique qualities. For this particular run, a lecture series has been carved out for July-November 2017.
