KCFI president Rina Lopez-Bautista accepts the citation from NGES principal Emelita Cajigal and Division of Makati assistant schools division superintendent Maria Teresa Namoro
Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) recently received a certificate of recognition from Nicanor Garcia Elementary School (NGES) in Makati.
KCFI president and executive director Rina Lopez- Bautista personally received the certificate on behalf of the foundation.
In a short message, Lopez-Bautista said: “We do what we do not for any recognition but because we believe in your school, we believe in helping others and really doing it because we want to.”
KCFI has partnered with NGES since 2016 when the latter underwent the Learning through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies (LEEP) teacher training program.
With more than 30 teachers, NGES has been trained in modern teaching strategies that cater to 21st century learners. These include collaboration, inquirybased learning and other constructivist approaches aided by multimedia learning resources.
Upon taking LEEP, the school received a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library, an external hard drive with over 1,000 curriculum-based videos, games and other materials.
In their annual Stakeholders’ Day, the school community headed by principal Emelita Cajigal prepared a short program as a way of expressing their thanks.
“The school cannot do it alone. We need you, we need our partners to help our learners to achieve more,” Cajigal said.
At the end of the program, Lopez-Bautista signed a pledge of commitment along with 23 other stakeholders as a sign of KCFI’s continuing support to NGES. (Story/Photos by: Michael Ramos)
