Representatives of Burgos High School turn over their donations to Operation SagipVarious groups held fundraising activities to help families affected by the eruption of Mt. Mayon earlier this year. Among the latest donors were Northern Operating Services Asia Inc. and Burgos National High School.
Through ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc.’s Operation Sagip, employees of Northern Operating Services Asia Inc. donated 300 relief and hygiene packs.
“We also want to promote volunteerism among our employees and it’s good that Operation Sagip is accepting in-kind donations,” said Luke Daniel Salud, the company’s CSR Business Resource chairman.
Students of Burgos National High School in Montalban, Rizal, also held a concert dubbed “Love Jam” to raise funds for the same cause.
“Noong pumutok ang bulkang Mayon, ‘yung mga bata, awangawa. Sabi nila, ‘Ma’am, tulong tayo,’” recalled guidance counselor Rebecca Nocon.
The students were able to raise funds for 300 hygiene kits. Nocon said Operation Sagip was the first one to respond to their concern, adding that they believed their donation will reach the intended beneficiaries.
