The Visayas right now have undergone a scheduled brownout/electricity sharing to solve the energy crisis. Do you think Solar Energy can best help solve this problem?

mommy dharlz, yes i do believe that Solar Energy is really a great help especially in what Visayas is experiencing right now. Scheduled power interruptions is a big hassle to business establishments and even to regular households. Since there's this Solar Energy why not make use of it.

So far only select areas are experiencing brownouts in Visayas now. In Iloilo City, the power is still enough for both residential and business consumers.

Iloilo and Cebu are stable since Leyte is providing them. As for Bacolod and other places, they are having a hard time coping up with the increasing demands. Not to mention, the "welga" of some "wannabe" environmentalists who stops the expansion being made by power plants to provide stable and safe electricity.

Solar energy is the solution for individual homes or buildings to save money and cope up with the increasing demands. But as for mass production, I guess it would not be feasible because it needs a lot of sun to harness sufficient energy and that means we need to install solar panels in big land areas.

So I guess home solar kits are the next generation "must-haves" for homes just like any other appliances.

Yes!! its reasonably priced. Well, compared to buying one generator set. Adtel's starter kit is P10,000 and their 'souped-up' version costs twice as much and comes with a 20-watt solar panel, control box, an LED lamp and energy saving watt. The 200 watts can power an electric fan, 21-inch TV, a DVD player and a PC and can charge mobile phones.

Here in Mindanao specifically in Davao we are really suffering from everyday 2 to 3 hours blackout.

I am so pro with Solar energy. The very heat of the sun can be beneficial because of this. Also it saves money that be needed in providing food for family.

I hope the everyday blackout would stop. It so hard for us here
