ALLIANCE Global Group Inc. (AGI), Enderun Colleges and GoodSam Medical Center have each signed supply agreements with the First Gen Group to deliver clean power to their respective facilities. 

Diversified conglomerate AGI has partnered with First Gen to transition to renewable energy (RE) the power needs of key properties and facilities in Metro Manila, Iloilo and Davao as part of the conglomerate’s sustainable development goals. 

The agreement, signed last Aug. 13 by representatives of AGI and First Gen, entails the supply to the AGI locations of more than 25 megawatts of geothermal energy from First Gen’s Bacon-Manito facilities in Albay and Sorsogon. 

AGI facilities covered by the agreement include Megaworld township developments and the Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig City, ArcoVia City in Pasig City, Richmonde Hotel Tower-Iloilo in Iloilo City, the Davao Finance Center in Davao City and the Emperador Distillers plants in Santa Rosa and Biñan in Laguna. 

“Electricity usage comprises a significant portion of conglomerate-wide carbon emissions. Our ability to harness more renewable energy to support our operations without compromising efficiency or service delivery will greatly reduce our carbon footprint and help us get closer to our goal of achieving carbon net zero,” said Arnulfo Batac, head of sustainability of Megaworld Corporation.

The agreement between Enderun and First Gen took effect in June 2026, with buildings and facilities in its 1.7-hectare main campus in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, recently completing transition to using RE. First Gen will source the estimated 650 kilowatts (kW) of energy demand from Enderun from its Unified Leyte power plant. 

“We studied the renewable energy source of First Gen and what it looked like in terms of operational cost. It’s so good when initiatives that help save the planet, help the environment and help sustainability align with business sense,” said Danny Perez, chief operating officer of Enderun 

“Year on year, we can see the transition from customers who are after cheaper electricity to proactively indicating that they want renewable energy source. It is always a privilege to partner with educational institutions who choose renewable energy because this can inspire the next generation to make conscious decisions. We look forward to supporting Enderun in helping achieve decarbonization goals,” said First Gen head of sales and engagement Arlene Soriano. 

The agreement with Goodsam Medical Center, a partner-hospital under the Mount Grace Hospitals Inc. (MGHI) network, calls for First Gen to supply GoodSam Medical Center an estimated 360 kW of electricity from the Unified Leyte plant. 

“We are immensely proud to lead the use of renewable energy for hospitals in Nueva Ecija which will benefit our patients and stakeholders through our reduced carbon footprint as well as cost efficiencies and savings that we can pass on to improve our service for Novo Ecijanos,” said Richard Lirio, president of GoodSam Medical Center. 

First Gen earlier agreed to shift to RE the supply of electricity for 16 other partner hospitals around the country of MGHI, one of the Philippines’ largest hospital networks and a member of the United Laboratories or Unilab Group. 

“Our partnership with GoodSam Medical Center and the broader Mount Grace network shows how collaboration can pave the way for efficiencies, environmental stewardship and community well-being can be achieved. Medical facilities need a steady stream of electricity supply that only geothermal, with its baseload capabilities, and hydro, with its flexibility, can deliver. We are extremely proud to be working with the GoodSam Medical Center and Mount Grace teams to achieve decarbonization goals,” said Vega.
