Financial literacy becomes fun and easier as Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) and Insular Foundation produce a learning video on macroeconomics that will present the basic concepts of income, savings and consumption to Grade 9 students. Earlier, Insular Foundation had sponsored a Learning Effectively through Enhanced Pedagogies (LEEP) training for 15 schools in Batangas; the schools also received a KCh On Demand package for K to 12.
Teachers, principals armed with PFA skills
KCFI recently conducted LEEP training in three typhoon Yolanda-devastated areas. The three-day training that exposes teachers and principals to the appropriate use of 21st century pedagogies, current learning tools and learner-centered teaching relevant to core principles of the K to 12 curriculum now focuses on psychological first aid (PFA). In partnership with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc.-Sagip Kapamilya and with the support of the Psychological Association of the Philippines, a module was designed to guide teachers and principals in addressing the psychological first needs of children in calamityand disaster-stricken areas. Since its rollout in Busuanga Island in December 2015, the training has reached schools in Cagayan de Oro and Panay.
KCFI x CBK Power for KCh access
KCFI headed to CBK Power Co. Ltd. in Laguna to turn over KCh On Demand packages and train teachers and principals on the effective use of KCh multimedia learning resources. Sony Bravia TVs, speakers and portable media libraries were given to 15 schools, allowing them access to KCh’s curriculum- based programs and educational games.
