Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) celebrated its 25th founding anniversary on June 14 with a legacy of being at the forefront of education innovation through media and technology and by providing transformative learning experiences for Filipino children. This momentous milestone for KCFI calls for celebratory activities!
To date, KCFI has reached approximately 5.6 million learners mostly from barangay child development centers (CDCs), kindergartens, elementary schools and high schools in basic education and community learning centers of the Alternative Learning System. Among national agencies and organizations, its key partners are the Early Childhood Care and Development Council for the foundation’s early childhood development efforts, as well as the Department of Education for K-12. KCFI has also been providing training programs for child development workers and basic education teachers and principals.
For its 25th anniversary, KCFI is set to launch “Gurong May K,” a nationwide search for educators who have utilized Knowledge Channel in their classroom effectively; “Kabataang May K,” a photo essay contest where students can share their stories of learning with Knowledge Channel; the KCFI 25th anniversary book covering 10 lessons from the foundation’s 25 years of service to the Filipino children; the “25 for 25” donation drive to provide Knowledge Channel Portable Media Libraries (KC PMLs) to 25 K-12 public schools and 25 CDCs; and the Knowledge Channel Outstanding Stakeholders Awards or KOSA, a culminating event to acknowledge the champions who have helped KCFI.
KCFI has touched many children’s lives by delivering quality education to their schools and homes. As we celebrate this milestone, we acknowledge the Lopez Group companies and employees for their relentless support. We invite all Kapamilya to celebrate with us by providing KC PMLs and KC TVs.
