Bacon-Manito Geothermal project (Bacman) of Energy Development Corporation (EDC) distributed school supplies to 4,229 elementary students in 14 schools in Sorsogon City and Manito, Albay.
TheEach student received packs containing pad paper, notebooks, rulers and writing instruments. Kindergarten pupils also received modeling clay along with the common supplies given to the rest.
“We are pleased to have distributed all these school supplies to so many students…. We are glad that we have somehow EDC Bacman gives students tools for school—and a brighter future helped ease the costs of education for the families of these children and are making it easier for them to pursue learning,” EDC Bacman deputy head Jay Soriano said.
EDC Bacman provided school supplies for students of Basud, Ticol, Capuy, PJ Delgado Memorial, Bucalbucalan, Rizal, Tublijon, Tiris, Gajo, Osiao, Gayong and Sto. Nino elementary schools in Sorsogon and Inang Maharang and Nagotgot elementary schools in Manito.
Parents of students who were present during the distribution of supplies expressed their gratitude to EDC Bacman for its assistance, saying it was a great encouragement knowing that a company like EDC helps support their children’s education. (Mary Anne Tejada)
