Adapting to the new normal workplaceAmid the easing of the lockdown restrictions across Metro Manila and people starting to go back to offices, employers and business owners are now tasked with the responsibility of ensuring the safety of their occupants and employees.

While enhanced cleaning procedures, strict physical distancing, one-way indoor traffic and sneeze guards have been put in place to assure the safety of employees, maintaining indoor air quality has become more important than ever and a priority for many businesses.

To help adapt to the new normal workplace and mitigate unease over potential indoor health implications, Samsung partnered with Rockwell Land to launch the Samsung WindFree 4Way Cassette with air purifying panel across Rockwell workspaces in Metro Manila.

First in the Philippines

This new air-conditioning system is the first in the Philippines to use WindFree technology in the workplace. Now equipped with an air purifying panel, the Samsung WindFree 4Way Cassette System is designed to cleanse the air and get rid of impurities including bacteria and viruses.

“With this new technology, tenants, employees and building owners alike are assured of safer and better air quality in their offices so they can focus better and stop worrying about their health while at work,” said James Jung, president of Samsung Philippines.

Samsung’s WindFree 4Way Cassette creates a fresher, more comfortable and safer indoor space by dispersing air gently through 15,700 micro-holes in the panel. On WindFree mode, it eliminates cold air drafts to make people comfortably cool and instead produces “still air” or a gentle flow of air that is undetectable as it softly permeates any room. Fresh air can also enter the room with the WindFree 4Way Cassette’s fresh air intake hose for better ventilation to prevent stale air, mold and bacteria.

Reduced health risks

Health risks associated with indoor air quality are exponentially reduced with the various hygiene solutions of the Samsung WindFree 4Way Cassette such as the air purifying panel and ionizer kit.

The air purifying panel has two types of filters, pre-filter and PM1.0 filter, that together give thorough purification. The pre-filter captures large dust particles while the PM1.0 removes not only 91% of ultrafine dust but also sterilizes the air, eliminating 99% of bacteria and viruses such as E. coli or staph. The ionizer kit helps to further reduce 99% of certain viruses, bacteria and allergens by neutralizing and destroying them.

With a large cleaning area of up to 157.4 sq. m., the air purifying panel can clean the air fast and efficiently—a perfect appliance for enclosed commercial establishments. With its optimized 84-mm. big blade, it is 31% bigger than normal and delivers air up to 10 meters without “dead zones.” It also has washable and reusable semipermanent filters with no filter replacement needed. The air purifying panel monitors the dust concentration of the room through the LED lamp display and checks air quality in real time through the new wired remote controller.

Smart, efficient operation

Samsung WindFree 4Way Cassette highlights an automatic WindFree operation via a temperature and humidity sensor that can change modes from normal cooling to WindFree cooling, highlighting its smart and efficient operation.

In the WindFree cooling mode, up to 55% less electricity is used compared to normal cooling, keeping employees comfortably cool without worrying about bill surges.

Another feature is a motion detector sensor that detects absence in the room and switches to WindFree mode to reduce energy consumption by as much as 50%.
