Over 2,000 families from different towns in Ilocos Sur and Cagayan received relief from ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. (AFI) to help them recover from the damages brought by typhoons Egay and Falcon.
The heavy rains displaced families in the two regions and affected their livelihood, but with the generosity of donors, AFI-Sagip Kapamilya was able to give relief packs to families living in barangays Casitan and Batangan in Gonzaga and Simayung and Sirit in Abulug, all in Cagayan.
In Ilocos Sur, the foundation also served residents affected by massive flooding with food packs, including those living in the towns of San Ildefonso, San Pablo, Santo Domingo and Bantay.
In an interview with “TV Patrol,” Ilocos Sur provincial administrator Marlon Tagorda said the towns that AFI reached were submerged by the flood. “They are really devastated and they were directly hit by the typhoon, so lahat ng mga pinuntahan natin lubog,” he said.
Individuals who wish to share the love to affected families can send their donations through various donation channels posted on the AFI Facebook page. They may also purchase AFI donation vouchers via Shopee and Lazada.
