The Oscar M. Lopez (OML) Center officially launched its State of the Philippine Climate (SPC) StoryMaps, an innovative digital tool that presents the findings of the SPC publication in an interactive, user-friendly format.
Starting with the content of the SPC 2022, the StoryMaps aims to enhance its users’ understanding of the key climate indicators, trends and climate-related disasters that occurred in the Philippines in 2022 through dynamic maps, graphs and data visualizations.
By making climate data more engaging and easier to navigate, the SPC StoryMaps also aims to support education, planning and advocacy efforts across various sectors. The platform is optimized for different browsers and devices and is best viewed on desktops and laptops.
Moving forward, the OML Center plans to release StoryMaps for the upcoming editions of the SPC, ensuring the continued access of its stakeholders to interactive and data-driven climate insights.
