Lopez Achievement AwardThe stage is set for the Lopez Achievement Awards’ (LAA) 2013 cycle ceremony and reception at ABS-CBN’s Studio 10 on September 24.
The LAA management team had received 50 nominations—unprecedented in the 11-year history of the LAA. A screening committee consisting of experts was formed to evaluate the entries under each category. All nominees were given a chance to face the committee members and expound on why their achievements deserved the award.
This cycle yielded 22 semifinalists representing ABS-CBN Corporation, ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc., Asian Eye Institute, Energy Development Corporation, First Balfour, First Gen Hydro and Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc.
The teams’ achievements were entered in one or several of the six LAA categories, which are Customer Focus, Business Management, Operations Management, Human Resource Focus, Corporate Image and Public Responsibility.
After the judging carried out by panels composed of the top talents in the Lopez Group, the finalists were presented to the Lopez Group executive committee for the final approval of LAA winners and Yolanda Heroes.
Yolanda Heroes
Yolanda Heroes, a special 2013 LAA cycle recognition, will also be handed out during the September 24 event.
It aims to recognize Lopez Group employees or teams that volunteered a significant amount of their time and resources; made a huge personal sacrifice and even exposed themselves to potential danger in an effort to help in the search and rescue or to secure the safety not only of fellow employees but also of other persons; and those who mobilized, led, guided and inspired people and provided a strategy or courses of action to overcome extreme difficulties.
The LAA has sustained the interest and spirit of competitiveness among Lopez Group companies and foundations in the annual search for the most outstanding achievements of individual employees or teams. They must have accomplished exceptional work in the year covered by the particular cycle, and in the process, contributed significantly to business results and demonstrated the Lopez core values.
