On April 7, 2018, kapamilya in the Visayas experienced the WTT employee wellness program when the Negros Island Geothermal Business Unit (NIGBU) of Energy Development Corporation (EDC) hosted the first WTT event in the south.

Around 150 walkers attended the activity held at Lake Balinsasayao in Negros Oriental.

EDC safety officer Rizalino Siglos Jr., the morning’s emcee, led the recitation of the Lopez Credo and Values. Clinic administrator Mary Trishia Alesna delivered the invocation.

This was followed by a security and safety briefing with Nic Sabido and Adolf Pineda Jr., respectively, an inspirational message from EDC NIGBU head Jay Soriano, and a Department of Environment and Natural Resources briefing from Rico Mier, president of the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes farmers’ co-op.

Before taking on the uphill and downhill trails for two kilometers, the participants warmed up Zumba style. As an added treat, several walkers had an opportunity to go for a boat ride on the lake.
