Wellness Walk the Talk (WTT) 12th anniversary celebration at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Sto. Tomas, Batangas on August 11. Registration started around 6 a.m. as participants helped themselves to an early morning pick-me-up consisting oftaho,pandesal and bananas.
Braving a drizzly morning, over 500 Lopez Group employees and their family members and friends attended the Lopez HR Council-Lopez LifelongFPIP president Giles Puno and First Balfour president Anthony Fernandez gave the welcome remarks after the recitation of the Lopez Credo and Values led by First Balfour’s Macky de Lima.
Before trudging almost four kilometers, the participants enjoyed the warm-up spearheaded by Gold’s Gym. August Villalon from Energy Development Corporation’s Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response Unit gave the participants their safety reminders.
During the walk, the participants were also given the opportunity to see firsthand the new developments and structures inside FPIP. Halfway along the trail, the tree-planting activity commenced, and the walkers chose their preferred spots to plant their respective trees. At this point, they were rewarded with fresh buko to reenergize their bodies.
Meanwhile, the awarding for Perfect Attendance saw a record-breaking count of 100 employees recognized. ABSCBN and Adtel racked up the most number of awardees with 22.
The day ended with the raffle of the major prizes.
The smiles generated by this annual undertaking show how valuable the WTT really is—a venue for camaraderie, family bonding and wellness rolled into one!
The event had ended and the participants were safely on their way home when the weather, which brought only light intermittent rains during the morning, defied predictions and intensified later in the afternoon and throughout the weekend. (Story/Photos by: Gerbs de Castro)
