Tin Coqueiro, Vice President for Retail DevelopmentTin Coqueiro, Rockwell Land Vice President for Retail Development, has grown with and on the job. First gracing LopezLink pages as senior leasing manager of Power Plant Mall in 2013, she happily reports that Rockwell Land’s leasable spaces have almost doubled since.
“In the last seven years, our footprint grew by expanding the mall and opening more retail formats in different locations. We will continue to expand in the next five to six years,” she says. Aside from Power Plant Mall in Makati, Rockwell Land now has retail spaces in San Juan, Pasig, Quezon City, Mandaluyong and Muntinlupa.
Coqueiro believes the very competitive retail business, especially in the face of a global pandemic, keeps her on her toes and drives her continually toward her best self.
“The best part about being in retail is there will always be a lot more that can still be done. The business requires us to constantly find ways to innovate and improve, so we never stop moving and evolving, especially now that we’re growing. If there’s any silver lining with this pandemic, it’s the realization that the world is bigger than we thought and the best thing we can do is to accept change and learn how to start over again,” she says.
Differentiating Rockwell communities
As for architect Jacko Zialcita, Rockwell Land Assistant Vice President for Design, his landscape design team is involved in the planning and execution of all Rockwell Land projects—residential, office and tourism-related.
“We are also involved in the Christmas décor and the design of our buildings’ outline lighting details,” he says.
For a long time, the lighted silhouettes of Rockwell Land buildings during the Christmas season differentiated their communities from others, though the practice has caught on.
First featured in LopezLink as consultant for design and planning in 2015, Zialcita has continued to follow the discipline of comparing existing projects to what each new project has to offer. “In designing our landscape and amenities, we try to have something new that we don’t have nor the competition has.”
Going forward, he says: “I’d like to raise more environmental protection awareness and encourage water conservation in our landscape projects. I’d like to share the learnings I’ve picked up through the opportunities I have experienced.”
Zialcita is really passionate about conservation and believes each person can do his or her share to help mitigate the effects of climate change through small, doable steps. His message for LopezLink readers: “Let’s protect the environment and plant plenty of trees.”
Meanwhile, for the coming yuletide, Coqueiro invites all Lopez Group Kapamilya to visit Rockwell Retail spaces near them, where health protocols are well observed for the safety of customers, tenants and service providers alike. They can also visit therockwellist.com to buy an e-gift for the people in their very special Christmas gift list.
She says: “We’re working hard to make sure we can continue to give you a safe and pleasurable experience when you visit the mall! We wanted to give you the same Christmas experience, but just much safer this time. Both our on-site and digital efforts were well thought of to make your journey more convenient. Please visit our site, therockwellist.com, to find out more information on all our efforts, whether it’s on-site or online!” (Story/Photos by: Carla Paras-Sison)
