ABS-CBN gave a sneak peek of its offerings in 2019—including the return of Angel Locsin to prime time with “The General’s Daughter” and the turn of Regine Velasquez as a judge on “Idol Philippines”—at its “Family is Love” Christmas trade event on November 27.
“The General’s Daughter” features a stellar cast led by Angel Locsin, Albert Martinez, Eula Valdes, Janice de Belen, Tirso Cruz III and Maricel Soriano.
Meanwhile, “Idol Philippines” and “World of Dance Philippines” lead the pack of reality game shows that the network has in store for 2019. Winners of “World of Dance Philippines” will even get a chance to audition for the show’s American version.
The lineup also includes “PBB Otso” and the return of “Minute to Win It: Last Man Standing.”
The Kapamilya network’s new streaming service, iWant, showcased offerings such as the viral “Glorious” and “Spirits Reawaken.”
Further beefing up iWant’s lineup are “High,” “Project Feb 14,” “Story of My Life,” “The End,” “Commuters,” “Touch Screen,” “Find the Wasabi,” “Jhon en Martian” and “Everybody Loves Baby Wendy.”
ABS-CBN Films, comprised of Star Cinema and Black Sheep, also presented its early-2019 lineup: “Eerie” starring Charo SantosConcio and Bea Alonzo; “Heart of Mine” with Richard Gutierrez, JM de Guzman and Jennylyn Mercado; “Sakaling Maging Tayo” with McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson; “Open” featuring JC Santos and Arci Muñoz; the Jodi Sta. Maria starrer “Clarita”; and an as-yet-untitled Liza Soberano-Enrique Gil movie to be directed by Antoinette Jadaone.
Afternoon teleseryes will still showcase dramas that resonate with viewers, starting with “Kadenang Ginto” and “Los Bastardos” of Kapamilya Gold.
“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” will continue to give excitement to prime-time viewing along with “Halik” and “Ngayon at Kailanman.” Joining the lineup of Primetime Bida are “Mea Culpa” starring Jodi Sta. Maria and “Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit” with child actress Sophia Reola. (Story/Photos by: Kane Choa)
