Following the successful seven-year run of his iconic teleserye “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” Coco Martin is set to be back on prime time with another Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) classic—and he is joined by a huge all-star cast.
Dreamscape Entertainment surprised fans with its announcement of the modern retelling of FPJ’s 1986 film “Batang Quiapo.” Coco will be paired with “Da King’s” daughter Lovi Poe; he will also be reunited with showbiz luminary Charo Santos, who played a special role in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
Also in the cast are Lito Lapid, Christopher de Leon, John Estrada, Tommy Abuel, Pen Medina, Susan Africa, Cherry Pie Picache, Allan Paule, Mark Lapid, Ronwaldo Martin and Mercedes Cabral.
The 2023 teleserye will be produced by Dreamscape Entertainment and Coco’s CCM Film Productions, with Coco himself and Malu Sevilla at the helm.
The action-comedy film “Batang Quiapo” is about Manila’s pickpocket kingpin. Baldo (FPJ) is determined to start a new life after his time in prison. But he meets a young thief named Maria (Maricel Soriano), who asks him to take her on as an apprentice
