ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc Bantay Kalikasan marks its 20th anniversary with the launch of “Batang Bibo ng Kalikasan,” a music video featuring child performers Xia Vigor, Chunsa Jung, Xymon “Onyok” Pineda and Marco Masa that encourages children and the general public to do their part for the environment.
Xia, Chunsa, Onyok and Marco performed the song on “Umagang Kay Ganda” to kick off the activities in celebration of Bantay Kalikasan’s two decades of promoting environmental awareness and implementing projects that address the worsening air and water pollution, denudation of forests and irresponsible waste disposal and their life-threatening effects.
In the song, the young ambassadors of Bantay Kalikasan discourage the public from utilizing single-use plastic and instead choose lunchboxes, tumblers and other containers that can be reused. They also urge people to plant more trees and vegetables in their own backyards.
The launch of the music video and the “Batang Bibo ng Kalikasan” campaign coincided with the declaration of January as Zero-Waste Month.
Bantay Kalikasan also held a recyclables event at the ABS-CBN compound where employees and visitors were encouraged to donate their used PET bottles, paeprs, cartons, styro, metal objects, defective office supplies, empty glass bottles and aluminum waste (drink cans).
