Representing the best of the best achievements of teams from the companies across the Lopez Group, 20 nominations endorsed by the respective presidents and CEOs of the participating companies were submitted to the Lopez Achievement Awards (LAA) program management team.
Eleven entries emerged as semifinalists after the first round of assessments by the screening committees representing the six categories—Customer Focus, Human Resource Focus, Operations Management, Business Management, Corporate Image-Building and Public Responsibility.
Dominating Customer Focus
For the Customer Focus category, four out of six entries made it as semifinalists, all coming from ABS-CBN Corporation—“Star Hunt: Finding the Star in Every Kapamilya Dreamer” by the Star Hunt Team, “Wildflower: The Wildest Teleserye of 2017- 2018” by Team Indestructible, “Dissecting Data (Making Sense of the Numbers)” by the Dissecting Data Team and “iWant: The Great Shift” by the iWant Team.
For the Business Management category, the two entries made it to the semifinal round. They are “Brand Alliance: Procuring Resources via Non-traditional and Creative Selling” by the Integrated Marketing Brand Alliance Team of ABS-CBN and “Strengthening First Gen’s Natural Gas Business: Implementing the 6-Year Power Supply Agreement with Meralco for the 420-MW San Gabriel Power Project” by the San Gabriel PSA Team of First Gen Corporation.
For the Operations Management category, three out of five entries were chosen as semifinalists. They are “Over P1 Billion Savings Through Electronic Bidding” by the ABS-CBN Finance Team of ABS-CBN, “Mobile Journalism (MOJO)” by the Radyo Patrol Team of ABS-CBN and “Knowledge Channel and the Power of Interns” by the Knowledge Channel Team of Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc.
For the Corporate ImageBuilding category, the lone semifinalist out of two entries is “Team Yey: Laying Down the Foundation for a Kids Content Ecosystem in the Service of the Filipino Children” by the DTT Yey Channel Team of ABS-CBN.
Second assessment
For the Public Responsibility category, the lone semifinalist out of three entries is “Lola Sayong Eco-Surf Camp: Beyond the Board” by Bantay Kalikasan and Gubatnon for Adventourism Inc. under ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc.
The semifinalists went through the second round of assessment by the panel of judges composed of members of the Lopez family, Lopez Group executives and an external judge on August 27, 2019.
The judges then endorsed the LAA finalists to the Lopez Group executive committee on September 11, 2019.
