While fans packed the Philippine Arena to show support for the Filipino athletes in the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) opening ceremony, even more people watched the live telecast of the event on ABS-CBN, making it the most watched program for the entire weekend. The 30th SEAG opening ceremony on Nov. 30 registered a national TV rating of 29.2% based on data from Kantar Media, the highest for all programs that aired on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1. ABS-CBN News’ Facebook Live of the ceremony hit 1.8 million views, while many also watched on iWant. Early this year, ABS-CBN launched the National Cheer campaign. Its anthem, “Isigaw Mo, #GalingNatinIto” sung by over 20 OPM artists, was featured in ABS-CBN Sports’ coverage of the games.
