First Balfour, was named one of the 10 Outstanding Manilans during an awarding ceremony held to celebrate the 443rd Araw ng Maynila.
Dr. Fiorello Estuar, chief executive officer (CEO) ofEstuar served as Department of Public Works and Highways secretary in 1987 and National Irrigation Administration administrator in 1980. He designed the implementation package which resulted in the speedy completion of the 10-kilometer portion of the Manila- Cavite Coastal Road in 1985, and was nominated as Maynilad president during its financial rehabilitation in 2004.
The First Balfour CEO is one of several Outstanding Manilan awardees in the Lopez Group, which include chairman emeritus Oscar M. Lopez, chairman Ambassador Manuel M. Lopez, ABS-CBN Corporation chairman Eugenio Lopez III, ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. managing director Gina Lopez and the late Eugenio “Geny” Lopez Jr.
For over 30 years, the city government has been conferring the award to Manilans whose achievements in their chosen profession have contributed to the development and promotion of Manila.
Aside from Estuar, the other awardees for 2014 were Justice Jhosef Lopez, ASEAN Paragames medalist Rudy Sarmiento, painter/portrait- First Balfour CEO among Outstanding Manilans is Lulu Coching, Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce president Dr. Alfonso Uy, former Manila vice mayors Danilo Lacuna and James Barbers, Philippine Red Cross-Manila chapter board secretary Dr. Nona Ricafort, former Manila mayor Ramon Bagatsing (posthumous) and producer and TV and radio host German Moreno.
