Christmas is closing in and I know that most of you are busy preparing as this season is, after all, a time to spend with your loved ones.
A colorful occasion, Christmas is a time when we're all greeted with smiles despite the frantic arrangements we attend to. It is the only season where everything seems bright and cheery, and homes are aglow with the warmth of the holiday spirit.
This season gives us that great opportunity to reflect on the value of compassion, and most importantly, the virtue of gratitude. I am reminded of the ABS-CBN station ID. The teasers, where passersby at Plaza Miranda each gave personal accounts on what they are thankful for, made me feel genuine warmth. This, I find remarkable, because if there's anything our country is rich with, it's faith, and the innate mindset that things will indeed turn around for the better. Despite the unprecedented catastrophes that continue to permeate our lives, we, as a nation, have remained strong and still have it in us to search for things to be grateful for.
As we tend to our remaining tasks before the work year ends, may every hardworking Filipino be greeted with peace and happiness as we welcome the warm embrace of Christmas.
As John F. Kennedy said: "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
Merry Christmas, Kapamilya!
Maraming salamat,
Lopez Group Chairman
