THIS year, Lopez Inc. (LI) is organizing a joint Christmas celebration for its subsidiaries. Except for Lopez Holdings Corporation which is listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange, all the rest of the LI investees are not publicly listed.
I feel quite excited because it is the first time that 10 companies under LI are coming together, counting over 400 employees as well Lopez family members who may or may not be working within the Lopez Group. I am told that about half of these employees are millennials.

I am looking forward to seeing all these young people, and am hoping to learn something new. Truly, the old can learn from the young as much as the young can learn from the old. The key is to genuinely respect other people and be open to ideas and experiences that are not our own.
The most important thing is to get together as a family. With our offices serving as our second homes, our corporate family is a real family, and this year, we are gathering our extended corporate family under LI. It would truly be meaningful to get to know our counterparts in the other companies, to expand our horizons and look outside our limited corporate identities. Perhaps we will make some new friends, meet people we can learn from, or others we can help.
After all, being perfectly united can only be achieved by finding what is common among us, essentially our values, respecting one another and showing malasakitfor our kapamilya. I wish you all a joyous Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
