Lopez Group Comptrollers’ Circle held its general assembly and fellowship at the ELJ Communications Center to celebrate its 16th year of organization.
TheThe whole-day festivities started with Fr. Carmelo Caluag discussing spiritual wellness in the professional and business environment.
Mark Lopez, chief technology officer of ABS-CBN Corporation, delivered the opening message.
Special guests were Lauren Dyogi, head of TV Production of ABS-CBN, who talked about work-life balance in the media and production environment; and husband-and-wife wellness coaches Jim and Toni Saret, trainers on the “Biggest Loser Philippines” program on ABS-CBN, who presented health and wellness activities in the work environment.
The focus during this event was nontechnical topics, with the view of assisting the comptrollers and accountants in their personal development as well as to give time for fostering fellowship and camaraderie.
The group wrapped up the occasion with the annual Christmas fellowship which included fun games, exchange gifts, raffles and entertainment from ABS-CBN talents. The program was hosted by Jei-Jei Gertes.
The Comptrollers’ Circle was organized in 1999 with the support of Lopez Group chairman emeritus Oscar M. Lopez. Its objective is to maintain high-quality financial reporting in the Group in terms of reliability, relevance and timeliness, and to promote worklife balance among its members. Various seminars and trainings are organized regularly to keep the comptrollers, accountants and finance personnel updated on the developments in accounting standards and pronouncements, taxation and other regulatory requirements.
