First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) Inc. recently hosted a Learning Effectively through Enhanced Pedagogies (LEEP) training for public elementary schools in its host communities.
Held in SanTomas Suites within FPIP, the training was conducted in partnership with Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) and aimed specifically to help attendees in effectively adopting and implementing the K+12 curriculum.
LEEP, a brainchild of KCFI president Rina Lopez Bautista, trains teachers and school heads to create and conduct student-centered learning environments, familiarizing them with enhanced pedagogies and K Channel’s video and interactive materials.
The training was facilitated by consultant Dr. Fe Hidalgo, who was assisted by Sheryl Gayol, Dolores Andres and Joyce Tee. As host, FPIP, through Community Relations officer Marco Amurao, helped ensure that the requirements of the training were provided.
The participants conducted a lecture-demonstration using the strategies they learned with Grade 2 students of Sta. Anastacia Elementary School who were brought to the training venue.
The activity culminated with the turnover of portable hard drives containing K Channel videos, questionnaires and other relevant literature that can be used in the classroom. (Story by Marco Amurao)
