ABS-CBN executive and box office director Ruel Bayani was named an ambassador for the Philippines in the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA).
He joins the list of leading media executives from Japan, Australia, China, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Bangladesh that the AAA has chosen to be ambassadors to the award-giving body.
“The AAAs have stamped themselves as a highly credible, well-judged authority in our industry and I’m extremely proud to serve as its Philippine ambassador,” Bayani said as he accepted the appointment.
Bayani is behind the blockbuster hits “Kasal,” “One More Try” and “No Other Woman” as well some of ABS-CBN’s most notable and well-loved teleserye such as “Iisa Pa Lamang,” “Tayong Dalawa” and “Budoy.”
Currently ABS-CBN’s head for international production and coproduction, Bayani led the network’s first foray into Hollywood production with the international action series “Almost Paradise” in partnership with the US TV and film outfit Electric Entertainment.
