New dishes to try at Elbert’s Diner

Twitter

Elberts's goes retroElberts's goes retroElbert's started out as a cheesesteak sandwich shop that served arguably the best in the metro. It grew into a full-blown sandwich joint that served some of the best tuna melt, truffle mushroom melt, Cubano and Reuben sandwiches (among others) that we’ve had the pleasure of devouring.

This sandwich shop we know and love recently evolved into Elbert’s Diner.

The restaurant space, still located in the expansion wing of Power Plant Mall, is now decked in neon signs to give it a retro diner vibe.

Despite having an extensive new menu, it’s hard to miss the BLT deluxe burger. The towering sandwich is made with a 200-gram patty home-blended with three different cuts of beef. The result is a balance of texture, juiciness and flavor. Ask them to slather on their famous cheese sauce to get a BLT deluxe cheeseburger.

Order the cheeseburger with a strawberry milkshake and a side of thick-cut and crisp Famous Fries for the full diner experience.

True-blue fans of Elbert’s will be happy to know that the diner carries the Steak Room’s best-selling salpicao. Just like at the main branch, the dish is made with US tenderloin and served with rice.

Nothing completes the classic American diner vibe quite like buttermilk fried chicken. Elbert’s brines their chicken overnight in buttermilk, giving it a sweetish flavor blended with herbs and spices.

New on the menu is a diner staple that goes well with fried chicken–mac and cheese. Every bite gives you a combination of penne and soft, unprocessed mozzarella called fior di latte flown in from Italy. It’s topped with grated real English cheddar to give it some crunch and bite. They also give you the option to top the pasta with truffle, pesto or smoked tomato sauce to add oomph to the dish.

Elbert’s Diner is located at R2 Level, Power Plant Mall
