Basco Central Elementary School in Batanes receives a SKYdirect prepaid kit in June 2017Basco Central Elementary School in Batanes receives a SKYdirect prepaid kit in June 2017SKYdirect is an active stakeholder in solidifying the overall CSR program of SKY that is learning-centric, dedicated and sustainable, and one that creates richer stories and richer lives that began as early as 1996.

To date, SKYdirect has donated prepaid kits to around 57 Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. partner schools nationwide, enabling young students to have access to an engaging system of learning. Thus, SKYdirect is able to nurture Filipino students’ potential, especially in public schools in far-flung areas where tools such as modern media are still rare even today.

Families affected by the 2017 Marawi crisis enjoyed the Pacquiao-Horn fight on top of news and other entertainment programs as SKYdirect and ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. (ALKFI) provided viewing stations in evacuation centers in the barangays of Santa Elena, Maria Cristina and Buru-un in Iligan City, and Poblacion, Balo-i in Lanao del Norte. The viewing stations aimed to help alleviate the stress and anxiety of the displaced families amidst the clash between government troops and Islamic State-linked groups.

SKY has also allotted 32 kits for use in military camps and navy personnel deployed in various parts of the country, with SKYdirect becoming one of their main sources of information and entertainment.

On top of this, SKYdirect has partnered with ALKFI and “TV Patrol” in donating prepaid kits to schools in Batanes, Bulacan and Antipolo.
