This June, enjoy the best of two cultures as TFC and the Philippine Expo Organizing Committee bring the first Filipino-Japanese fusion festival, “IslaFest,” happening at Tokyo’s Ueno Park on June 14 to 16.
The three-day event will feature the best of Filipino and Japanese cultures, from colorful celebrations and appetizing food to outstanding performances from Filipino and Japanese artists.
“We are excited with the very first Islafest event in Japan, a three-day Filipino-Japanese fusion event that puts the spotlight on the rich culture and talent of both Filipinos and Japanese. This celebration aims to have a greater appreciation and knowledge about our two countries,” said Eric Martin Santos, ABS-CBN Global country manager for North Asia.
On June 14, listen to a new genre of music and show-stopping dance numbers from the Philippines—Tarsier Records artists Iñigo, Kiana, Moophs and Xela— and Japan’s Around Forty Super Idol, YACO, Myrah Kay, Kamen Joshi, Miku Goto and Leon Grace Goto, Shizuka Igarashi, Yuka Ozeki, Ai Ogawa, Kazuki Mizuno and Eri Yoshikawa, John Michibata, and Jhun Himeno and Hoshino Satoru.
On June 15, overseas Filipinos will sing their hearts out to be named as “MOR Pinoy Pop Icon” regional champion. The battle be followed performances from Japanese artists.
On June 16, a variety of performances will be witnessed, from singing and dancing to comedic numbers from Filipino and Japanese artists.
Gather your family and friends and experience the best of two cultures at “IslaFest.” The festival is open to the public, but guests can enjoy the front-row seat experience by purchasing a VIP ticket for ¥6,000, which is sold per day.
