To mark its milestone 30th year, The Filipino Channel, widely known as TFC, has commissioned ABS-CBN head of creative communications management Robert Labayen, who has penned the lyrics of several of the company’s station IDs, to write its anniversary theme song. The composition and overall music production for the anthem was done by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.
The song, “Always at Home with You,” carries the message of home being more than just a physical location, but most especially the sense of belonging within a community.
ABS-CBN Global marketing head Pam Castillo emphasizes that TFC’s 30th-year campaign goes beyond portraying TFC as a mere home away from home for Filipinos. Instead, it seeks to celebrate the global community we have collectively built.
Castillo reflects that in the last three decades, “with every broadcast, every movie released, every event mounted, TFC has built a global family and turned a strange land into something we can call ‘home.’”
The lyric video features glimpses of the recording process with top artists Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Piolo Pascual, Erik Santos, Angeline Quinto, KZ Tandingan, Darren Espanto and Gary Valenciano. A behind-the-scenes version of the song has also been launched that includes interviews with all 10 artists and conversations with the song creators, Labayen and Manalo.
The full music video will be released in April, the anniversary month of TFC.
As Eugenio “Geny” Lopez Jr., visionary founder of TFC’s parent company, ABS-CBN, once articulated, “TFC’s mission is to serve the Filipino wherever he or she may be.”
ABS-CBN Global COO Jun del Rosario underscores the company’s commitment to service while adopting a forwardthinking approach.
“This is what we do. TFC remains, and will always be, in a perpetual state of evolution. To fulfill our mission, we must persistently move and adapt with the ever-changing times, while remaining true to our essence of being the home for global Filipinos,” Del Rosario says.
