The Filipino ChannelThe Filipino Channel(TFC) once again made history as they gathered a record crowd of over 50,000 and made the Barrio Fiesta sa London 2012 the biggest Filipino event in Europe and around the world to date. With the theme `Pinoy Summer, Da Best Forever,’ Philippine Centre and TFC indeed gathered the biggest audience of Filipinos from London and nearby countries who wanted a glimpse of their favorite kapamilya celebrities and have fiesta fun.
Truly, the Philippine Centre and TFC gathered the best in Filipino talent as Budoy former lead star and Pinoy Big Brother alumni Gerald Anderson; World Championships of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) champion Jed Madela; stand-up comedienne Giselle Sanchez and versatile actress Angelica Panganiban of the Banana Split fame entertained our kababayans at the Lampton Park in Hounslow on the first day of the event last Saturday, June 30 with original Filipino music and some covers of international music hits, audience participation and irreverent comedy.
The following day, the Philippine Centre and TFC did a double-take in bringing the most-loved heartthrobs at they brought singer-actor Jericho Rosales, Giselle, Jed and sexy siren Christine Reyes of the recently concluded Dahil Sa Pag-ibig teleserye in treating Filipinos to a whole day fiesta with their own brand of entertainment.
Adding more international flavor to the record-breaking event is the performance of internationally renowned vocal group Blake. Blake willingly performed for TFC for free as a way of giving back to the Filipino community, for the warm reception that was accorded them in their Philippine visit early this year.
Blake is the classical crossover vocal group who was formed on social networking site Facebook and has earned the interest even of Hollywood celebrities for their covers of famous pieces such as With or Without You by U2; Nessun Dorma, Hallelujah, and Up Where we Belong which the group sang during the Barrio Fiesta sa London event.
Not only the best in kasiyahan or fun and enjoyment but as well as for talent, TFC also culminated UK Grand Finals of TFCKat, the first all-Filipino, international talent search on the first day of the event.
