Twitter

Movie BlowoutMovie BlowoutGather your family or barkada every Saturday this month as Movie Central brings a Movie Blowout lineup of sci-fi adventure movies that are sure to put you on the edge of your seats.

Based on the “The Mortal Instruments” book series by Cassandra Clare is the 2013 action film "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” which airs on June 15. Lily Collins stars as Clay Fray, daughter of a Shadowhunter from whom she inherited powers. As she learns about her ascendants, Clay joins forces with others like her and heads into a dangerous alternate New York called the Shadow World.

Meanwhile, a rare disease destroys humanity in “The Girl with All the Gifts.” But Melanie (Sennia Nanua) seems to be immune to the disease. The doctors begin to experiment on her but she escapes and traces what she used to be with the help of a Miss Justineau (Gemma Arterton), Sergeant Parks (Paddy Considine) and Dr. Caldwell (Glenn Close). The movie airs on June 22.

In “Pandemic,” a virus spreads and threatens life on Earth. Alfie Allen plays Wheeler in this 2016 movie. See how Wheeler tries to help doctor Lauren Chase (Rachel Nichols) find the survivors. It premiered on June 9 and has a replay on June 29 on Movie Blowout.

Watch these films on the Movie Blowout block of Movie Central every Saturday at 9 p.m.

Also don’t miss the actionpacked films of Liam Neeson— “Non-stop,” “A Team” and “Taken 3”—on Action Zone Block every Friday at 5 p.m. (Story/Photos by: Kane Choa)
