Daniel & Kathryn in Pangako Sa Yo trailerDaniel Padilla said he had goose bumps when he and Kathryn Bernardo were shooting the trailer for the remake of the hit TV series “Pangako Sa ‘Yo.”

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Padilla said it took him a while before he realized that he and Bernardo are indeed headlining the Kapamilya soap.

“Happy lang ako ngayon. Parang kinikilabutan ako nung shinoot namin. ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo,’ yun na yun mismo. Tapos habang ginagawa namin tuluy-tuloy lang yung music ng ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo.’ Parang oh my God, ito na talaga yun,” he said.

Bernardo, for her part, said she is extremely excited to give justice to the role of Yna, which was originally portrayed by Kristine Hermosa.

The teaser of the remake shows Bernardo and Padilla recreating a scene from the original where Hermosa and Jericho Rosales run across a field.

First aired in 2000, the original “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” centered on sweethearts Yna and Angelo, who are anguished over the discovery that they might be half-siblings.

This time, Jodi Sta. Maria will play Amor, Yna’s mother, while Angelica Panganiban will take on Claudia, the scheming and ambitious wife of Amor’s former love.
