The Antoinette Jadaone-helmed comedy-satire film, “Beauty in a Bottle” starring award-winning actresses Angelica Panganiban, Assunta de Rosi, and singer-actress Angeline Quinto is set to debut on Cinema One’s Blockbuster Sunday this September 6, 8PM.
“Beauty in a Bottle,” Jadaone’s second film last year prior to her Cinema One Originals hit, “That Thing Called Tadhana,” highlights the never-ending issue on female insecurities. The film chronicles the lives of Judith (Angeline Quinto), Vilma (Assunta de Rossi), and Estelle (Angelica Panganiban) – three women with different physical insecurities whose lives begin to intertwine when Vilma’s advertising agency searches for an endorser for a new beauty pill product named, “Beauty in a Bottle.”
In the film, the three women struggle with their insecurities in the midst of the “Beauty in a Bottle” craze and in the end realize how their lives were changed because of the effect of “Beauty in a Bottle” to them.
“Beauty in a Bottle” also stars Ellen Adarna, Bianca Manalo, Dimples Romana, Cai Cortez, Anna Luna, Carmi Martin, Tom Rodriguez, and Empress Shuck. The film also received positive reviews from critics, moviegoers, and netizens who described the film as ‘deceptively funny.’
“Beauty in a Bottle” will also have encore on September 12, 9PM.
Completing Cinema One’s Blockbuster Sundays this September are Gina Alajar’s “Mater Dolorosa” (September 13), Korea’s “The Tower” (September 20), and KimXi’s “Past Tense” (September 27). All Blockbuster Sundays on Cinema One air every 8PM. (Story/Photo by: Katherine Solis)
