Done in partnership with Power Plant Mall, it will be held at the North Court on September 5-7, 2014.

Dubbed “Foresight Saves My Eyesight,” the event will show attendees the value of preventive eye care. The eye disease prescreening is a simple, noninvasive test that can assess whether a patient is at risk for serious eye conditions like cataract, glaucoma, retina disease or corneal disease.

Asian Eye vice president and general manager Alwin Sta. Rosa explains: “Through this technology, we can help in preventing sight-threatening diseases that could potentially cripple the livelihood of the family and affect a person’s quality of life. For this event, we are offering it for free to all attendees.”

This is also in line with the goal of Power Plant Mall to give back to the community that has made Rockwell Center the thriving hub it is today.

Prescreening service pioneer

Many eye conditions start at a young age but do not manifest any symptoms until the condition is already in an advanced stage. By pioneering the prescreening service in the Philippines, Asian Eye hopes to keep Filipinos from going blind due to eye disease.

Instead of waiting for symptoms of eye problems to appear before going to the doctor, Asian Eye encourages patients to get a regular eye checkup for themselves and their loved ones. Asian Eye hopes that eye care will become part of every Filipino’s health care routine.

“Clear vision is valuable in every Filipino’s goal of creating a good and productive life,” says Sta. Rosa.

On-site wellness activities

Asian Eye can also offer prescreening through on-site wellness activities of the Lopez Group companies. The checkup can include a free vision screening and eye disease prescreening for an affordable rate of P300 per patient. The test takes only 10 minutes and the peace of mind of knowing the condition of your eyes is priceless.

Aside from the eye disease prescreening, Asian Eye will also offer free vision screening to help attendees determine if they have nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism.

Event partner Allergan will offer a simple test and samples of Cellufresh eye drops to treat dry eye. (By Audrey Trinidad)
