Lopez Group celebrated the 11th anniversary of the Lopez HR Council-Lopez Lifelong Wellness Walk the Talk (WTT) at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Sto. Tomas, Batangas on August 12, 2017.
TheUndeterred by the strong earthquake that shook Metro Manila the previous day, the participants showed up bright and early at the venue. They were greeted with generous servings of taho, suman and bananas to prop up their energy for the day’s activities. Even the weather seemed to cooperate by sending some clouds to keep the temperature comfortable.
The event was sponsored by FPIP, First Philec, Terraprime and ThermaPrime. Marco Amurao of FPIP, Julia Gubot of ThermaPrime, Marjorie Meralles of Terraprime and Jimbooh Como of First Philec shared the emceeing duties, while Stephen Tecson of Terraprime led the invocation.
vocation. Members of the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth performed the national anthem. Patrick John Garcia of FPIP led the recitation of the Lopez Credo and Values, after which First Philec’s Thelma Meneses gave the welcome speech.
Everyone accorded a grand welcome to Lopez Holdings Corporation chairman Manuel M. Lopez who delivered an inspirational message.
Those who have joined previous WTT events in FPIP always say that they see or experience something new every time. On this walk, the sponsors allowed bicycle enthusiasts to join the fun—and this was well received and appreciated by the riders.
Halfway along the 4.5-kilometer trail, the participants gave Mother Nature a hand through a tree-planting activity. As a simple “reward,” they were treated to fresh buko juice.
After completing the course, the participants converged in The Oasis gym for a hearty brunch. Lucky raffle winners brought home surprise gifts courtesy of various kapamilya companies and event partners.
Lopez Group HR Council head Cedie Lopez Vargas thanked the participants for their continued support. She acknowledged the large crowd, which was estimated at about 800 participants, as proof that Lopez Group kapamilya remained conscious of their health and wellness.
The awardees for Perfect Attendance were then announced and the organizers revealed a record-breaking 100 award recipients. ABS-CBN had the most number of awardees with 24 employees walking away with the recognition.(Story/Photos by: Gerbs de Castro)
