The ongoing exhibit is the Lopez Memorial Museum’s last in Benpres Building. By year’s end, the institution will be ensconced in its temporary space at the Garage in Rockwell Center before moving to its permanent home in The Proscenium, also within the Rockwell Center. As early as now, much inventorying and packing is going on behind the scenes in preparation for the move.
This is why we not only made sure to give you an in-depth look at the Propaganda exhibition as well as the Roberto M. Lopez Conservation Center, AKA the “hospital for paintings.” We retraced the museum’s journey from Pasay to Ortigas over the past 55 years. We also asked Lopez Group chairman emeritus Oscar M. Lopez (OML) along with his daughter, director Cedie Lopez, to share their thoughts about the impending move and, in OML’s case, memories of his father Eugenio Lopez Sr.’s book buying trips abroad.
Of course, OML himself is marking a major milestone this month—his 85th birthday on April 19. Happy birthday, Sir!
Summer doesn’t have to be about hying off to secluded islands or cooler climes. With most of Metro Manila out of town especially on Holy Week, why not make Power Plant Mall your very own summer hideaway? Keep cool, refresh and recharge or lose yourself in any of the summer blockbusters at the cinema.
Wellness—looking good and feeling good—is high on our list of priorities. When we get back from our Holy Week ruminations, it would be a good time to focus on physical wellness. There’s DZMM Takbo 2015 on April 12—one of the most enduring Lopez Group runs—to help us in that department. Bring your Lopez Group company ID when you register in order to avail of a discount!
Speaking of running, First Balfour newbies have found a guide in Macky de Lima. The Strategic and Business Planning and Corporate Communications head leverages his running experience to win colleagues over to the fast side—and the pool of First Balfour runners is growing!
