Get ready to see the oldest known work of art in the Philippines dating back to 3000 BC.
On July 26, Walk the Talk (WTT) will take you through the rock walls of Angono where you can spot petroglyphs of about 127 human and animal figures.
The site was discovered by the late National Artist and Angono native, Carlos “Botong” Francisco in 1965 during a field trip with a troop of boy scouts. He reported the sighting of the cave drawings to the National Museum.
In August 1973, by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 260, the area has been declared the oldest known work of art in the country and a National Cultural Treasure. In 1985, the Angono Petroglyphs have been included in the World Inventory of Rock Art under the auspices of UNESACO, ICOM, ICOMOS, ICROM under the Standard Rock Art Files together with other world famous prehistoric rock art.
Capping the walk will be a filling breakfast courtesy of host company First Balfour.
The WTT is open to all Lopez Group employees and their family and friends. All participants must pre-register with their HR Department (secure form from HR) on or before July 24 (Thursday) at 12 noon.
Participants who plan to bring their own vehicles to the venue must attach the prescribed "windshield poster" to their windshields for Lopez event identity and security purposes.
For the Walk, wear comfortable walking shoes, shorts or jogging pants, t-shirt, cap, and apply anti-mosquito to ward off mosquitos. Also, bring a towel, an extra shirt and water.
