Lopez Group saw the other side of the Masungi Georeserve trail as the HR Council-Lopez Lifelong Wellness Walk the Talk (WTT) headed to the Garden Cottages in Baras, Rizal on March 17, 2018.
Walkers from theThe participants took in breathtaking sights along the trail, discovering different facets of Masungi aside from the popular trail frequented by outdoor enthusiasts.
Beth Nasol, SVP of the Human Resource Management Group of Energy Development Corporation (EDC) that sponsored the WTT along with the OML Center, welcomed some 450 participants to the March walk.
Jez Pucio of the Masungi Georeserve Foundation Inc. (MGFI) provided a brief backgrounder on the venue. MGFI owns the Garden Cottages area.
EDC Corporate Affairs Group senior manager Atty. Allan Barcena discussed the partnership between EDC and the MGFI, which covers the planting of endangered and premium native tree species in the vicinity of the georeserve. He pointed that the theme or the Lopez Value for the March WTT is “Unity,” represented by the partnership with MGFI—unity in promoting and advocating for native trees.
Before exploring the Garden Cottages, August Villalon from EDC’s Disaster Preparedness & Response Unit prepped the walkers with a safety briefing, while Jane Antonio from Gold’s Gym led them in doing warm-up exercises.
