FIRST Gen Corporation was recognized as one of the Philippines’ Sustainability Champions by The Manila Times (TMT) at Conrad Manila, Pasay City, on Sept. 23, 2025. The award was accepted by Janice Dugan, First Gen senior CSR manager, and Margarita Pambid, First Gen senior management systems manager.
With the theme “Envisioning Our Green Future,” the event honored 15 companies for their environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives and contributions to advancing a circular economy. Winners were selected by TMT’s search and selection committee based on the four Is of sustainability: initiative, impact, inclusiveness and integration into core operations and values.
The recognition affirms First Gen’s leadership in clean and renewable energy aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and its broader commitment to the United Nations SDGs. As the country’s leading clean and re-newable energy company, First Gen continues to advance the transition to a low-carbon and regenerative future through its diverse portfolio of hydro, solar, wind, natural gas and geothermal power plants.
“With the reality of climate change, here and now, the task is daunting. But with partners like The Manila Times and the growing force of sustainability champions, we are more inspired than ever to continue our mission of forging collaborative pathways for a decarbonized and regenerative future,” Dugan said.
Beyond energy, the award highlights First Gen’s broader impact—uplifting communities, protecting the environment, contributing to SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by advancing a decarbonized and regenerative future for the Philippines.
