ABS-CBN TVplus sales continue to rise as ABSCBN reports that seven million units have been sold as of February, four years since its launch in February 2015. Sales have been steadily growing as more Filipinos patronize the country’s pioneering digital terrestrial television (DTT) product.
Based on Kantar Media’s Q4 2018 report of DTT households nationwide, ABS-CBN TVplus exclusive channels CineMo and YeY kept their spot as the third and fourth most watched channels, respectively.
Meanwhile, after the launch of new exclusive channels last year, Jeepney TV claimed the fifth spot, followed by Movie Central and Asianovela Channel in sixth place and eighth place.
ABS-CBN TVplus’ pay-perview channel KBO, which is now open to all networks, has attracted 1.2 million unique customers to register using the service.
Based on the Kantar Media establishment survey last August 2018, 72% of non-cabled homes in Metro Manila have an ABS-CBN TVplus box versus 55% in August 2017.
The number of non-cabled homes with an ABSCBN TVplus box also increased in Mega Manila to 65% from 44%, while those in the suburbs grew to 57% from 33% in the same period last year.
ABS-CBN TVplus also continues to expand its signal coverage areas as part of its mission to lead the country’s migration to digital broadcast by 2023.
In November 2018, Batangas became the 16th signal coverage area of ABS-CBN TVplus. Other coverage areas include Metro Manila, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Tarlac, Benguet, Cavite, Metro Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Bacolod and Davao. (Story/Photos by: Kane Choa)
