In the province of Albay, First Balfour supported the continuous operations of Tiwi Geothermal Field by Philippine Geothermal Production Company Inc. to contribute to the sustainable supply of clean and renewable energy to the country. In compliance with the guidelines of the ECQ declared by the national government in Luzon, First Balfour provided its essential services under a shifting work arrangement composed of 21 project management team (PMT) members, with manpower peaking at 88 personnel including direct workers. Part of the PMT are 11 nonTiwi residents who continued performing their duties despite the opportunity to go back home and be with their families.

Meanwhile in Kananga, Leyte, Energy Development Corporation, through a series of meetings with the First Balfour project team, also decided to continue plant maintenance works. A skeleton workforce of 12 project team members and 38 workers are on-site. To lessen the risk of exposure, project team members are deployed on rotation every two weeks.

To safeguard the health and safety of its skeleton team, the project has put in place preventive measures such as provision of face masks, daily body temperature checks, virus prevention reminders in daily toolbox meetings, social distancing inside service vehicles and in common areas, and the immediate reporting of any COVID19 related symptoms.
