INAEC Aviation Corporation was chosen by Ascent Air Mobility to perform air medical evacuation (medevac) services for The Medical City (TMC).
Utilizing its fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, INAEC has extensive experience in providing air medevac services for emergency patients nationwide. Its previous air medevac cases included bringing divers with decompression sickness, victims of car accidents, mountain climbers in need of rescue and individuals with life-threatening illnesses, including children, from the provinces to Metro Manila, where they could receive the required medical attention.
With the TMC-Ascent partnership, INAEC will carry patients as well as medical personnel, sensitive medical cargo and fragile medical equipment to and from any of TMC’s facilities throughout the country.
Dexter Ampong, general manager of INAEC, said: “In medical emergencies, time is of the essence. A span of minutes can spell the difference between saving a life or losing one. That is why we at INAEC, through our Air+Care services, made it our mission to provide immediate, safe and reliable air transport to patients in urgent need of medical care. And, with the current pandemic, we are using medical-grade PPEs to protect our crews and our passengers. INAEC handles its air medevac operations with that degree of care that ensures the safety of everyone involved during each step of the process.”
Lionel Sinai-Sinelnikoff, founder and CEO of Ascent, added: “While we aim to democratize access to air mobility, safety is of course foremost in our minds. This is why we chose to partner with leading air operator INAEC. Known for its excellent safety record and implemented best practices following stringent international operational standards, INAEC ensures the highest standards and reliability of operations required for such complex services.
Through this initiative, INAEC can save patients of The Medical City up to 85% of their time compared to land transportation, working within a safe travel bubble from the main branch of The Medical City to its wider healthcare network.”
“This initiative enables The Medical City to enhance its dedicated healthcare services by making the process more efficient, convenient and seamless,” said Dr. Christopher Napoleon delos Reyes, senior vice president of TMC. “Patients of The Medical City can now easily access medical air mobility services through Ascent as operated by INAEC in order to avoid road traffic, increasing our ability to provide timely and lifesaving medical care for our patients.”
INAEC is a Filipino air charter operator with a proven reputation for safety and excellence. In January 2021, it achieved its Stage 2 certification for the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations or IS-BAO, a code of best aviation practices established internationally.
TMC has been consistent with giving its patients an unparalleled healthcare experience, including innovations such as the TMC drive-thru lab. It continues to elevate its healthcare ecosystem with a focus on both patient safety and experience as well as service efficiency and excellence.
