A courtesy visit was held by SKY officials with Department of Interior and Local Government assistant secretary for barangay and community partnerships Beth Lopez de Leon.

Lopez de Leon is interested to partner with SKY, highlighting the importance of community participation in “Oplan Kontra Putol” to address the issue of illegal cable cutting.

Another meeting was held between the SKY corporate safety and security division and Brgy. Kapitolyo councilor Kevin Quioge. During their visit, SKY representatives discussed how the company can prevent further incidents of cable cutting in Brgy. Kapitolyo. The parties agreed to advance several initiatives through public information drives and closer coordination between the barangay and SKY.

SKY representatives in the Visayas have also been actively reaching out to barangays in the region. The meetings are part of SKY’s grassroots initiatives to inform the public of the ill effects of cable cutting and strengthen partnerships with local government units to address this concern.
