First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) welcomed over 2,500 runners for HAGARUN 2023 at its estate grounds on Feb. 5, 2023.
FPIP partnered with the School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) of Sta. AnastaciaSan Rafael National High School (SA-SR NHS) in conducting HAGARUN 2023, a run-for-a-cause program of the association to raise funds for the acquisition of a school service vehicle and for school facility repairs.
Over 2,500 participants from different city organizations, barangay functionaries from Sta. Anastacia and San Rafael, nongovernment agencies, civic groups, teachers, parents and students gathered starting at 5 a.m. to support the cause.
Key figures were present to thank those who attended and contributed to mobilizing the event.
“Walang hanggang pasasalamat sa lahat ng naririto, ito po ay para sa lahat ng magaaral ng Sta. Anastacia-San Rafael National High School,” Dr. Jhomar Sor, principal of SA-SR NHS, emphasized in his acknowledgment speech. Guiller Abdon, president of the SPTA, also expressed his gratitude to those who rallied together to organize the fun run, and encouraged parents of the schoolchildren to continue to support educational endeavors in the future.
Hagarun 2023 is a five-kilometer run in which participants are challenged to run through the four stations of the running route and claim ribbons from each station. Around 6 a.m., the top 10 finishers emerged victorious and received medals and certificates as recognition of their accomplishment. All other runners were awarded certificates to acknowledge their participation in the run.
Organized by the SPTA, HAGARUN 2023 was made possible through the support of FPIP, MHE DEMAG and SMART Communications for sponsoring the racetrack, power access and race trail equipment, respectively. In total, the fun run raised over P490,000—enough to procure a school service vehicle and to pursue repairs and improvement of school facilities.
FPIP is one of the country’s fastest-growing industrial parks offering industry-leading companies world-class park management and providing highvalue jobs to tens of thousands of Filipino workers.
