SKY has intensified its campaign against illegal cable-cutting through a road show event called “#OplanKontraPutol Barangayan: Sama-sama Laban sa Putol-Kable.”
The initiative aims to provide a deeper understanding among local government and police officials of illegal cable-cutting and its impact on the community. These events will also discuss concerted efforts that can be done to curbcable cutting and theft.
The first #OplanKontraPutol Barangayan held at the Muntinlupa Sports Center was attended by city and barangay representatives from Muntinlupa. During the event, SKY security manager Gerry Basada commended the efforts of the local government that resulted in Muntinlupa having the lowest number of reported cases of illegal cable cutting in 2022 and to date.
Subsequent road show legs will be held in other cities with high numbers of cable-cutting incidents such as San Juan and Quezon City.
