The partnership marks an important milestone in the evolution of Philippine design education as SoFA moves to The Proscenium Retail Row this year, marking an exciting new chapter in the institute’s journey.

Christine Coqueiro, Rockwell vice president for retail development, shared her enthusiasm about the partnership, stating: “Rockwell is delighted to join forces with SoFA in this landmark collaboration. By combining our expertise in real estate development with SoFA’s excellence in design education, we aim to create a world-class campus that will empower aspiring designers and shape the industry’s future in the country.”

SoFA’s presence in Rockwell complements the soonto-be unveiled Rockwell Performing Arts Theater, located right beside The Proscenium Retail Row at the Plaza, offering a comprehensive cultural experience for the entire community. SoFA’s new campus, currently under development led by its students and faculty in collaboration with interior designers and SoFA board members Ivy Almario and Cynthia Almario, aims to be a collaborative and dynamic space that brings together aspiring and established creatives from a variety of design disciplines.

“We are thrilled to embark on this collaboration with Rockwell,” said Amina AranazAlunan, SoFA cofounder and president.

“This represents the beginning of an exciting journey that will redefine design education in the Philippines. We are eager to witness the vision of a new campus at Rockwell come to life, providing an inspiring space for our students to flourish, as well as a beacon of Philippine creativity,” she added.

The vision behind this partnership is “Blank Canvas,” symbolizing the exciting beginnings and limitless possibilities that lie ahead for SoFA and Rockwell in nurturing the next generation of design leaders.

The contract signing ceremony took place at The Balmori Suites in Rockwell Center. Executives and representatives from both SoFA and Rockwell gathered to formalize their commitment to transforming design education.
