The First Philippine Holdings Corporation Centralized Finance Center (FPH CFC) tax team organized a tax updates workshop on November 22, 2023, attended by 153 participants from the comptrollership teams across the Lopez Group.
The workshop kicked off with a talk from Senen Quizon, principal of Deloitte Philippines, regarding the updates on legislation, e-invoicing and value-added tax on registered business enterprises transactions. This was followed by a discussion of the recent court decisions on Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) tax audits, latest BIR issuances and year-end reminders on tax filings from Tristan Lopez, director of Deloitte Philippines.
The event’s second half was led by Deloitte Southeast Asia (SEA) Transfer Pricing Centre. Himanshu Gupta, senior manager, talked about transfer pricing (TP) requirements and latest developments in the Philippines, while executive director Vrushang Sheth shared his expertise on inclusive framework, base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) initiatives, country-by-country reporting and master file requirements. Finally, TP leader Carlo Navarro wrapped up the workshop by discussing BEPS 2.0 on minimum tax and its impact on the group.
At the end of the event, the participants asked their questions during the panel discussion. The FPH CFC tax team expressed their gratitude to the experts from Deloitte Philippines and Deloitte SEA. The Lopez Group Comptrollers’ Circle also held its accounting updates and general assembly at Rockwell Business Center Tower 3 on Dec. 13, 2023.
