Through the MOA, signed by PCA Foundation president and First Balfour vice chairman and chief executive officer Anthony Fernandez and PICQS president Sharon Pascual, flagship and special training programs will be rolled out targeting students, young professionals, and practicing construction experts.
First among these programs is the masterclass series, which returns for its fifth batch from July 2025 to November 2025. First launched in 2021, this 14-session online course can accom modate up to a maximum of 40 participants on a first come, first served basis. Designed for engi neers and construction profes sionals with at least three years of construction experience, the series provides structured, in depth learning on topics such as measurement and estimating principles, sustainable and innovative construction, contract administration, and professional cost management.
The second initiative introduces three new special QS mini classes targeted at specific groups, with the goal of reaching the PCA’s provincial chapters and a wider audience across the industry. The first mini class is “Intro to QS” tailored for civil engineering students who want early exposure to the profession. The second, “Intro to QS + Special Topics,” is designed for young professionals age 30 and below with two to three years of work experience, blending foundational lessons with practical insights. The third mini class covers an array of topics and is intended for practicing construction professionals who will attend Technoforum sessions within Philconstruct events nationwide.
These initiatives reflect the shared commitment of the PCA Foundation and the PICQS to nurture the QS profession in the Philippines and offer flexible, accessible learning options for the growing needs of the construction industry.
