Georgina WilsonMany Filipinas are now hooked on the country’s newest fashion, beauty and lifestyle guide, “
Maven” magazine—which was officially launched recently at a party held in Opus, Resorts World, Pasay City.
A bi-monthly magazine, “Maven” aims to bridge the gap between the collegiate readers of “
Chalk” magazine and the more fashion-savvy followers of Metro magazine. By enlisting seasoned experts in the fields of fashion, beauty, and relationships "Maven" is the life companion for young, modern Filipina women who want to live and love the best way they can.
Georgina Wilson, “Maven’s” first cover girl, was present at the launch party. She thanked everyone for the positive reviews “Maven’s” maiden issue has received. The issue bravely tackled the difficult but real issues of sex, dating and friendship, inviting the voices and real-life experiences of real men and women to empower readers as they forge and strengthen connections to complete their lives.
“Being chosen as the first cover girl of ‘Maven’ makes me feel honored, as it is a magazine that empowers women. I believe that this magazine, which
Georgina Wilson and Kelly Misa primarily targets an untapped market, has a lot of potentials. To be the first cover girl, I feel like a role model. Of course, it’s a big responsibility for me,” Georgina said during the launch.
ABS-CBN Publishing head Ernie Lopez feels ecstatic about the magazine, as he values the significance of the so-called “mavens” in the society. “I’m really excited about this new magazine because it’s addressing a market that is very important to us.”
In “Maven’s” official Twitter account @TeamMavenPH was flooded by tweets complimenting the magazines’ “homegrown, real and glamorous” content.
Lifestyle bloggers also feel ecstatic with the release of this new title. In a review published in her Tumblr blog, Bea Dominguez said “Maven” ended her struggle in finding an appropriate magazine for her age and interest.
Nana and Georgina“For years I have been struggling to find the magazine that would fit my interest in art, fashion, style, relationships, and not so much in the sex department since I’m quite bashful about the topic. So here comes Maven Magazine. I was so taken with the note of the editor, Nana, who said that the main goal and vision of the magazine was to make the reader dazzle. Dazzle, like a maven who is all knowing and confident and well. It’s everything I see myself to be. With its creative standpoint and fresh new perspective, Maven has become my number one magazine for recommendation.”
With expert and real-life contributions in its issues, “Maven” is, indeed, the go-to guide for a real and glamorous lifestyle for young women everywhere.
